From: "Dodie Miller" and "Tom Hackney" Subject: GSX Hearing Day 8 Date: March 6, 2003 GSX Hearing Day 8 - addendum The majority of the day was taken up by Francis Hugo's cross examination related to the Braithwaite Aquifer and other hydrogeological matters. While the content was beyond me, Francis assures me that several important points were made and his final argument will reflect those. George Walker questioned for Arbutus Ridge Ratepayers, nailing down the difference between what Hydro "may" and "shall" do relating to pipeline construction and maintenance. Essentially Hydro seem to be saying they will only promise if the NEB forces them to. At about 2:45pm Susie Washington-Smyth took the stand for the Marine Coalition. Her actual cross-examination began at about 3pm following an introduction of the several experts who will be both cross-examining and testifying for the Marine Coalition. It sounds like the Marine Coalition anticipates taking several days (maybe till Friday afternoon close) to complete their cross-examination., after which I believe there are still several individual intervenors who may have questions for Panel 5. This could be Monday morning. I also understand that arrangements have been made to have the Intervenor Panel for the Marine Coalition make themselves available for cross-examination immediately after Panel 5 if dismissed.
